Liverpool's Cody Gakpo has admitted that the 2-1 loss to Chelsea was “hard to take,” especially given the dramatic nature of the defeat. Chelsea's youngster Estevao scored a stunning goal in the 95th minute to seal the win for Enzo Maresca's side. Despite the loss, Gakpo believes Liverpool performed slightly better than Chelsea, saying, “We played a little better than them, but they were dangerous on the counter.”

Gakpo expressed his disappointment with the loss, highlighting the fine margins that decided the match. “To concede last minute is hard to take,” he said, adding that Liverpool had struggled with their form recently. However, Gakpo emphasized the need for the team to stay positive and keep pushing forward.

The Reds have now suffered three consecutive defeats across all competitions, with their last win coming against West Ham. Gakpo acknowledged the team's struggles, stating, “When you play at a club this big, it's normal when you lose three games in a row that it's not good enough.” Liverpool's next challenge will be against Manchester United at Anfield, a match that could be crucial in determining their season trajectory.

Moises Caicedo struck early with a stunning screamer in the 14th minute, giving the home side the lead. However, Cody Gakpo salvaged a draw for Liverpool by scoring a crucial goal just after the hour mark. The 26-year-old's strike restored parity and provided a much-needed boost to his team's morale.

Liverpool's losing streak extends to three consecutive defeats across all competitions. After the match, Gakpo expressed his disappointment, stating that the loss was particularly hard to take. Despite the setbacks, the team will look to regroup and bounce back stronger in their upcoming fixtures.

“It's difficult (to take). I think obviously we play against a really good team,” he told Sky Sports.

“First half, they scored an amazing goal, but I think it was level. Second half, we fought really hard for the equaliser, and we played a little better than them, but they were dangerous on the counter.

“To concede last minute is hard to take.”

When asked about Liverpool’s poor form, Gakpo added, “I don't want to say low on confidence. I understand what you mean.

“At this time, things don't fall our way. Maybe five games ago, they did fall our way. This is part of football. We have to take it on our chests and keep on fighting. We have to keep pushing.

“When you play at a club this big, it's normal when you lose three games in a row that it's not good enough. We know that as players.

“We are very much aware of the situation. We know what to do, which is going back to the winning ways.”
