Liverpool manager Arne Slot confirms Alisson's injury update ahead of the Chelsea match. Alisson's hamstring injury to keep him out for several weeks, says Liverpool boss Arne Slot.

“I will be surprised if he will be there for the first game after the international break...”

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that goalkeeper Alisson Becker will be out for several weeks with a hamstring injury. Alisson was substituted in the 56th minute of Liverpool's 1-0 defeat to Galatasaray on Tuesday after appearing to pick up the injury while making a save from Victor Osimhen.

The Brazilian goalkeeper is expected to miss Saturday's Premier League match against Chelsea and likely won't be available until after the November international break. Slot mentioned that Alisson won't travel with the Brazilian national team for their upcoming matches and might not be ready for the first game after the break, which could be around October 19 against Manchester United.

Giorgi Mamardashvili is set to deputize for Alisson in his absence. Mamardashvili has already shown his capabilities, impressing Slot with his performance against Southampton. With Alisson out, Mamardashvili will be crucial in Liverpool's bid to extend their two-point lead over Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.

Liverpool faces a challenging fixture schedule with upcoming matches against Manchester United, Manchester City, and Real Madrid. Slot emphasized the need for his team to improve after their recent two-match losing streak, saying they need to find ways to be better and not rely on luck or set pieces.

“Alisson is not part of the squad tomorrow and he won't travel to Brazil for the national team,” Slot told reporters on Friday.

“I will be surprised if he will be there for the first game after the international break. From there on things can go a bit faster a bit slower. It's difficult to say.”

Liverpool manager Arne Slot is relieved to have a solid backup goalkeeper in Giorgi Mamardashvili, given Alisson's injury and the upcoming tough fixtures against Manchester United, Manchester City, and Real Madrid.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot emphasized the need for improvement as his team faces eighth-placed Chelsea, coming off a two-match losing streak that includes a 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace.

“The reaction after losing two games in a row you can argue if that is positive. But what I saw was a team playing until the last minute trying to get a result (against Galatasaray)," the Dutchman said.

“I've said many times last season the margins are so small. That's the same this season again. We are trying to find ways to be better and not just rely on luck or a set-piece or something... We need to do better.”
