A Russian drone strike hit an apartment building in Kyiv where Ukraine international Heorhiy Sudakov lives, according to Sudakov and Ukrainian media reports.

Russia's defense ministry claims its military forces have struck Ukraine's military-industrial complex and transportation infrastructure, while both sides maintain they are not targeting civilians. According to the Russian defense ministry, the strikes were part of a massive combined overnight operation that also hit a government building in central Kyiv. Russia asserts its attacks are precise and aimed solely at military sites and related infrastructure.
Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Kyiv, reported that a nine-storey residential building in the Sviatoshynskyi district suffered significant damage, with several floors partially destroyed. Drone debris caused fires in a 16-storey apartment building and two additional nine-storey buildings.
The Interior Ministry confirmed that over 20 people were injured in the attacks on the capital. Meanwhile, air alerts persisted for more than 11 hours in Kyiv and its surrounding region, reflecting the intensity of the assault.
According to Ukrainian officials, Russia launched a massive aerial attack, firing 810 drones and missiles at Ukraine, with the air force saying 747 drones and four missiles were shot down. This attack is considered one of the largest since the war began, resulting in four fatalities and widespread destruction in Kyiv, including damage to a key government building.
