Bayern Munich kicked off their Champions League campaign with a convincing 3-1 win over Chelsea at the Allianz Arena. Harry Kane scored twice, including a penalty, to lead the German side to victory. Chelsea's defense struggled to contain Bayern's attack, with Trevoh Chalobah scoring an own goal in the 20th minute to give Bayern an early lead.

Kane doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 27th minute, but Chelsea responded well with Cole Palmer scoring a stunning goal just two minutes later. However, Bayern regained their two-goal advantage when Kane scored his second of the night in the 63rd minute, securing a 3-1 win for the home side.

Bayern Munich began to gain momentum, with Harry Kane having a header sail over the bar in the buildup to the opening goal. The game took an unexpected turn when Chelsea's Michael Olise caused chaos on the right flank, delivering a precise cross into the six-yard box. Unfortunately for Chelsea, Trevoh Chalobah inadvertently scored an own goal, giving Bayern the lead.

Bayern continued to press, and their persistence paid off when Kane won a penalty after a tussle with Moises Caicedo in the box. The English striker stepped up and confidently scored his 24th goal in 25 penalty attempts for Bayern, slotting the ball into the bottom right corner.

Despite Bayern's 2-0 lead, their performance hadn't been particularly impressive, so Chelsea's swift response seemed justified. Cole Palmer sparked a rapid counterattack, racing down the pitch and exchanging a one-two with Malo Gusto before finishing clinically into the top corner. This goal injected momentum into Chelsea's game, and they carried this energy into the second half.

However, Chelsea couldn't capitalize on their momentum, allowing Bayern to regain control. Robert Sanchez made two crucial saves, first from Harry Kane and then from Michael Olise, to deny Bayern further goals. Unfortunately for Chelsea, Sanchez couldn't make a save when Kane pounced on a loose pass from Marc Gusto and scored his second goal of the night, sealing a 3-1 win for Bayern.

Enzo Maresca attempted to turn the tide by making substitutions, but Chelsea's luck ran out when Cole Palmer's potential equalizer was ruled offside after touching Andrey Santos' pass. Palmer's clever finish would have been his second goal of the match, but the decision went against Chelsea.

Bayern Munich's victory marked their third win in as many competitive matches, maintaining their perfect start to the season. This impressive performance will likely boost Vincent Kompany's confidence, giving him hope that his team can progress further in the Champions League than they did in the past few seasons, when they were eliminated in the quarterfinals five out of six times.

Chelsea made history by becoming the first team to score at the Allianz Arena in this campaign. However, their maiden trip outside London this season didn't yield the desired results, with the team struggling to create clear-cut chances and ultimately falling short.

Match Highlights:

Bayern's Strong Start: Trevoh Chalobah's own goal gave Bayern an early lead, which they doubled through Harry Kane's penalty.

Chelsea's Fightback: Cole Palmer scored a brilliant goal to reduce the deficit, but Bayern sealed the win with Kane's second goal.

Bayern's Dominance: The German side controlled the game, with Chelsea struggling to create clear-cut chances.

The win marks a successful start to Bayern's Champions League campaign, while Chelsea will look to regroup and bounce back in their next match. Bayern faces Pafos FC next, while Chelsea hosts Benfica.
