The highly anticipated Tuscan Derby between Fiorentina and Pisa ended in a 0-0 draw, continuing both teams' disappointing start to the season. Despite the fiery atmosphere, neither team could capitalize on their scoring opportunities, with Fiorentina having two goals disallowed and Pisa having one ruled out.

Both Fiorentina and Pisa are struggling to find their footing this season. Pisa, under Alberto Gilardino, has lost three consecutive matches, while Fiorentina has suffered back-to-back defeats. The teams' current form reflects their standings, with Pisa ranked 18th and Fiorentina 17th in Serie A.

Pisa's woes extend beyond the pitch, with several key players sidelined due to injuries. Calvin Stengs will be out for four months following groin surgery, joining Tomas Esteves and Daniel Denoon on the treatment table. Fiorentina is also nursing injuries, having lost Tariq Lamptey for five months due to a torn ACL, while Christian Kouamé remains a long-term absentee.

Pisa posed an early threat from a corner kick, but M’Bala Nzola's header went wide under pressure from Pablo Mari. The visitors' defense held firm despite the pressure.

Moise Kean had a promising opportunity soon after, firing a drive narrowly wide of the post. Nzola came close to scoring on 13 minutes, heading onto the crossbar from Ebeneezer Akinsanmiro's assist.

Dodo's strike was deflected wide off Antonio Caracciolo's knee, while Rolando Mandragora's effort sailed over the bar following a corner kick routine. Both teams created chances, with neither able to capitalize.

The match was an intense, back-and-forth affair. Toure's acrobatic scissor-kick volley flashed just over the bar, while Robin Gosens set up Hans Nicolussi Caviglia for a spectacular volley that was charged down by Mehdi Leris at the back post.

The second half began with Michael Aebischer going off injured. Adrian Semper had a close call when he struggled to control a back-pass, but managed to scramble back and clear the ball from Moise Kean.

Moise Kean had two potential goals disallowed in the second half. On 57 minutes, he scored after a cleared corner was put back into play, but the goal was ruled offside. Seven minutes later, Kean slid onto Marin Pongracic's wayward effort, only to be flagged offside again.

Pisa also had a goal disallowed after Henrik Meister showcased his skill with a stunning half-volley from distance. Meister knocked down the goal kick, let it bounce, and scored into the far top corner. However, VAR intervened, ruling that Meister's hand made contact with the ball as he turned, disallowing the goal.

Juan Cuadrado's low-driven shot from 15 yards hit the base of the upright after cutting inside from the left. Bonfanti's rebound attempt struck Marin Pongracic on the hand, but the referee deemed his arm to be in a natural position, so no foul was given.

The match remained intense, with Edin Dzeko having a volley charged down in the box. Moise Kean then blasted a shot over the bar during a counter-attack, keeping the scoreline goalless.
