Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim wants his team to show more urgency and intensity as they face Brentford in the Premier League. Ruben Amorim praises new signing Bryan Mbeumo's impact on Manchester United's performance.

“It's normal the fans, they don't know what is going to happen the next game...”

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has acknowledged that his team has struggled with inconsistency for months. Despite an impressive performance in the season opener against Arsenal, where they lost 1-0, United bounced back with a 3-2 win over Burnley. However, Amorim believes that the team's inability to maintain a consistent level of performance has hindered their progress, but the team still sits 11th in the table.

Amorim admits he doesn't know what to expect from his team, but he's certain about one thing: the need to win. He's impressed with new signing Bryan Mbeumo, who has brought a different threat to the team with his runs, pressing, and overall performance. Amorim praises Mbeumo's impact on the dressing room, saying he's “not the guy that talks more, but you can feel that he's always there to help us.”

Amorim has also confirmed that Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro won't feature against Brentford due to injury and suspension, respectively. The team's preparation and mentality will be crucial in determining the outcome of the match.

“Every time we start preparing for the game and you watch the next opponent, you think it's going to be really, really tough.

“I have that feeling. But for me, we cannot control the result of the game. The most important thing is to start the game the way we started against Chelsea, the way we started against Burnley, the way we started against Arsenal”

Amorim is focused on getting his team to show more urgency and intensity in their matches. He wants United to approach each game with the mindset that it's the “last one,” emphasizing the importance of taking nothing for granted. As United prepares to face Brentford, Amorim is aware that back-to-back Premier League wins would be a significant step in the right direction for his team

“It's normal the fans, they don't know what is going to happen the next game,” he said. “To be completely honest, I have an idea, but I don't know how it's going to be, and I'm the manager of the team.”

He added: “The best way of dealing with that is that every game is the last one.... The next game is going to be the most important game for a long time for Manchester United.

“So I understand the feeling of the fans, so let's start changing that feeling to present ourselves with that urgency that we need on the pitch.”

Ruben Amorim is thrilled with new signing Bryan Mbeumo's performance since joining the team from Brentford. “I'm more than happy with Bryan,” Amorim said, praising Mbeumo's impact on the team. Mbeumo has brought a different threat to the team with his runs, pressing, and overall performance, according to Amorim.

“It's really important for everything he has been doing, the light that he brings to the dressing room. He is not the guy that talks more, but you can feel that he's always there to help us,” he said.

“He runs a lot, presses a lot, he is a different threat compared to last season.... I'm more than happy with Bryan.”

Amorim believes Mbeumo's character and ability to handle pressure will be crucial for the team's success. Mbeumo himself is excited about working with Amorim, noting the similarities between Amorim's training methods and those of his former coach, Thomas Frank, at Brentford. Both coaches prioritize intense training sessions and making football enjoyable.

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo won't be joining his teammates for today's match against Brentford due to a family bereavement. Diallo, who has started five of United's six games this season, has been granted compassionate leave by manager Ruben Amorim to be with his family during this difficult time. Amorim has expressed the club's support for Diallo, stating that they want to “win for him” in his absence.

Amorim also mentioned that Diallo has faced online scrutiny recently, and the manager has advised his players to limit their social media presence during tough periods. With Diallo out, United will need to adjust their lineup, potentially with Diogo Dalot starting in his place.
