Lazio secured their first Serie A win of the season with a dominant 4-0 thrashing of Hellas Verona, with Taty Castellanos playing a starring role. The Colombian's goal and two assists helped seal the comprehensive victory, extending Verona's winless run against Lazio to eight games.

Maurizio Sarri's side had suffered a defeat to Como in their opening match and were keen to avoid a run of three consecutive losses without scoring, a streak they hadn't experienced since March 2013. However, with Castellanos leading the charge, Lazio were able to put on an impressive display and bounce back from their disappointing start to the season.

The threat of a sequence continuing was swiftly eliminated in the third minute when Mattéo Guendouzi capitalized on a precise pass from Castellanos, firing the ball past Lorenzo Montipò with clinical precision.

Castellanos continued to make his presence felt, adding another expert assist to his name just seven minutes later. This time, he cleverly set up Mattia Zaccagni, who skillfully slotted the ball into the net, showcasing his exceptional finishing ability as the team's skipper and former Verona forward.

Verona's head coach, Paolo Zanetti, visibly expressed his frustration on the touchline as his team struggled to make an impact. Despite this, Verona came close to reducing the deficit when Antoine Bernede's shot hit the post after a promising attack.

However, any glimmer of hope for a comeback was brutally extinguished when Taty Castellanos capped off an impressive first-half display with a powerful header, scoring Lazio's third goal from Nicolo Rovella's precise free-kick. This decisive blow dealt a significant setback to Verona's chances of a comeback.

After halftime, Lazio continued to dismantle Verona's defense with ease, creating scoring opportunities with alarming regularity. However, they squandered a golden chance to add a fourth goal when Matteo Cancellieri beat the offside trap with Rovella's pass, only to blast his shot over the bar.

The match had effectively become one-way traffic, with Lazio dominating possession and creating chances. Castellanos again threatened Verona's goal with a long-range effort that flew just wide of the target. Meanwhile, Guendouzi's potential goal was ruled out for offside, a decision that didn't impact the outcome of the game given Lazio's commanding lead.

Antoine Bernède was one of Verona's most energetic players and nearly scored a consolation goal with a close-range strike after a flurry of activity in the Lazio box. Despite his efforts, Verona's defense remained vulnerable, unable to stem the tide of Lazio's attacks.

Lazio sealed their victory with a fourth goal, courtesy of Boulaye Dia, who tapped in a cross from Reda Belahyane with ease, effectively ending any hopes of a Verona comeback.

Maurizio Sarri's Lazio team secured a routine victory, marking their fourth consecutive head-to-head win against Hellas Verona. The match was a sobering experience for Verona, who endured a tough night in the Italian capital.

Verona's four-match unbeaten run, consisting of one win and three draws, came to an end. This loss leaves Paolo Zanetti's team with much to consider if they aim to surpass their 14th-place finish from the previous season.
