The New York Giants have named Jaxson Dart as their starting quarterback for Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers, replacing Russell Wilson. Dart, a rookie selected 25th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, will make his first career start against the Chargers' strong defense. The Giants are currently 0-3, with Wilson leading the team in their losses.

Dart's Background:

College Career: Dart played for Ole Miss, where he threw for 4,279 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2024.

Preseason Performance: He completed 32-of-47 passes for 372 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.

Rushing Ability: Dart added 52 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground during the preseason.

The coaching staff, led by Brian Daboll, has expressed confidence in Dart's abilities, emphasizing the team's need for a dynamic quarterback. Daboll confirmed that Dart will be the starter not just for this week but for the remainder of the season. Wilson, who struggled in Sunday's 22-9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, will serve as the backup.

Zach Wilson has taken the field as the starting quarterback, posting a 59.1% completion rate, tossing for 778 yards, and throwing three touchdowns and three interceptions. His passer rating sits at 78.5, ranking 24th, while his QBR stands at 34.0, placing 30th. Notably, Wilson has struggled to hold onto the starting role in his previous two teams, the Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers, where he was initially named the starter but lost the job mid-season.

Meanwhile, quarterback Tim Dart impressed during the preseason, earning the No. 2 passer rating. He completed 32 of 47 passes for 372 yards and three touchdowns without any interceptions. Dart also showcased his versatility by rushing for 52 yards and scoring a touchdown. Now, New York's 25th overall pick will face off against the Los Angeles Chargers, one of the six undefeated teams remaining. The Chargers boast a strong pass defense, ranking ninth in the NFL, and have conceded the fourth-fewest points with a total of 50.
