Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is optimistic about Erling Haaland's fitness for the upcoming match against Burnley. Haaland was substituted in the 76th minute of City's 1-1 draw with Arsenal due to sharp back pain, sparking concern among fans and the team. However, Guardiola believes Haaland will recover in time for the weekend fixture.

“Recovery yesterday (Monday), he didn't train and I didn't see him and the rest of the players yet today,” Guardiola said. “Hopefully, he can play at the weekend. It's been such a demanding week, the last game especially, and sometimes the players have problems. I think he will be fine for the weekend. I hope so.”

Haaland's potential absence would be a significant blow to City, especially with a busy schedule ahead, including a trip to Huddersfield in the Carabao Cup. Guardiola has already confirmed changes for the Huddersfield match, with Haaland and other key players likely to be rested. Despite the injury scare, City will look to Haaland's return to boost their title ambitions.

Guardiola's priority is ensuring his team's success in the upcoming matches, and he'll likely make strategic decisions regarding player lineup and rest.
