In the second half, Fortuna Sittard's defense gave Feyenoord more space, but the Rotterdam side failed to capitalize on their opportunities, with Steijn and Bos both missing chances to double the lead. Manager Robin van Persie brought in three fresh faces after 62 minutes, including replacing captain Sem Steijn. The substitutions paid off ten minutes later when Aymen Sliti coolly finished off a counter-attack to seal Feyenoord's 2-0 victory.
