Manchester United unveils £50m revamp of Carrington Training Complex, featuring upgraded equipment and technology to enhance nutrition, recovery, and team unity.

Manchester United has unveiled its revamped men's first-team building at Carrington Training Complex following a £50m upgrade. The year-long project, led by Norman Foster and Foster + Partners, was partially funded by Jim Ratcliffe's £300m investment in the club. The facility will support the team ahead of the new Premier League season.

The £50m training facility was redesigned with input from players and staff. Manchester United unveiled the revamped hub as manager Ruben Amorim and his squad returned from their US pre-season tour, ahead of the new Premier League season.

“Following a review of the facility last year, we made a quick decision to invest significantly in the creation of a world-class performance environment for staff and players to reflect our ambition and vision for Manchester United,” said Ratcliffe, who reached an agreement to become co-owner in late 2023.

“We are delighted with the outcome and are confident the new facility will play an important role in building a winning culture at the club.”

Most of United's executive leadership have moved into the building, which features upgraded equipment and technology, focusing on nutrition, recovery, and team unity. The facility includes increased natural light and open workspaces to encourage connectivity. “This project represents a clear step towards unifying every part of the club around a shared footballing vision,” said CEO Omar Berrada.

The men's team building redevelopment follows the £10m construction of a facility for the women's first team and men's academy in 2024. Manchester United's Premier League season kicks off on August 17th with a home match against Arsenal.
