The incident occurred on May 26 around 6 pm on Water Street, where a video posted on social media showed a car driving into supporters. Doyle, 53, was arrested and is facing 31 charges involving 29 victims aged between six months and 77. These charges include attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, wounding with intent, and affray. Doyle appeared tearfully at Liverpool Crown Court via videolink from prison, where he didn't enter any pleas. The case has been adjourned to September 4 for Doyle to enter pleas, with a provisional trial date set for November 24.

Judge Andrew Menary adjourned the case until September 4, when Doyle is expected to enter pleas. Earlier this year, a provisional trial date was set for November 24, with the case anticipated to last three to four weeks.
