EPL: Arsenal's Perfect Start Continues with 5-0 Win Over Leeds United
Arsenal dominated Leeds United 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium, securing their seventh consecutive win in the Premier League. Viktor Gyokeres scored twice, including a penalty in the final minutes.
Arsenal dominated Leeds United with a resounding 5-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium, securing their seventh consecutive win against the Yorkshire side. The match saw Arsenal's attacking prowess on full display, with Viktor Gyökeres scoring twice, including a penalty in the 90th minute.
Viktor Gyokeres was then given an opportunity to open his Arsenal account, but he dragged wide with more time in the box than he perhaps thought. Leeds caused a scare from a corner as Pascal Struijk’s header was pushed over well by David Raya.
However, the Gunners found the breakthrough with their own corner, as Declan Rice swung in for Jurrien Timber to brilliantly head into the far corner.
After also doing so against Manchester United last weekend, it is now the 32nd goal Arsenal have scored from a corner since 2023/24 - by far the most in the top flight.

Jurrien Timber turned provider and doubled Arsenal's lead just before half-time, feeding Bukayo Saka, who struck the ball superbly first-time into the net with his weaker right foot. The hosts continued their dominance in the second half, finding a third goal almost immediately. Riccardo Calafiori's precise pass through the channel found Viktor Gyokeres, who cut inside and scored his first Arsenal goal with a precise shot into the near post.
However, that joy was short-lived as Saka went off injured moments later, but Arsenal got a fourth through yet another corner as Timber poked home again after a scramble in the box.
The hosts could then afford to give 15-year-old Max Dowman his league debut as he came on, and he looked lively as he won a penalty in stoppage time. Gyokeres stepped up and struck into the bottom corner for his brace.
Arsenal's 5-0 thrashing of Leeds United wasn't just a convincing win; it also propelled them to the top of the Premier League table early on. This impressive victory marked another milestone for the Gunners, who are now one shy of matching Chelsea's Premier League record of 43 consecutive home games unbeaten against newly-promoted sides. Arsenal's current streak stands at 42 games, with their last loss against a promoted side at home dating back to November 2010 against Newcastle United.
On the other hand, Leeds United's seven-match winning run came to an end with this defeat. Despite their promising start to the season with a 1-0 win over Everton, they struggled to contain Arsenal's attacking force.
