Al Nassr has officially confirmed the signing of Spanish defender Inigo Martinez on a free transfer following his departure from Barcelona. The 34-year-old Spain international has joined the Saudi Pro League club on a deal running until 2026.

Martinez, who has made 21 appearances for Spain, brings significant experience to the team. He previously played for Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao before joining Barcelona in 2023, where he helped the club secure a domestic treble last season.

This signing marks Al Nassr's second major acquisition this summer, following the arrival of Portuguese forward Joao Felix from Chelsea. With the addition of Martinez, Al Nassr is bolstering its squad ahead of the new season, aiming to improve on last year's third-place finish in the Roshn Saudi League.

Al Nassr recently extended Cristiano Ronaldo's contract by two years and appointed former Al Hilal manager Jorge Jesus. The team is set to face Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final on August 19.

Al Nassr Club has officially announced the signing of Spanish defender Inigo Martinez as a free agent. “Al Nassr club company officially signed a contract with the Spanish star Inigo Martinez as a free agent,” the club said in a statement. The 34-year-old defender's contract will run until 2026. “Inigo's contract will be valid until 2026,” Al Nassr added. This move marks Al Nassr's second big signing this summer, following Joao Felix from Chelsea. Martinez's experience and leadership are expected to bolster the team's defensive line.

Inigo Martinez, the 34-year-old defender who won the domestic treble with Barcelona last season, began his career at Real Sociedad before joining Athletic Bilbao in 2018. He later moved to Barcelona in 2023 and has earned 21 international caps for Spain. Martinez has now joined Al Nassr on a free transfer, with his contract valid until 2026 and an option for an additional year.

Al Nassr has been actively strengthening its squad, and Martinez's signing is a significant addition. The defender will join forces with star player Cristiano Ronaldo, whose contract was recently extended for two more seasons. With this extension, Al Nassr is looking to make a strong impression in the upcoming season.

Al Nassr is set to face Al Ittihad in the semi-final of the Saudi Super Cup on August 19. This match will be a crucial test for the team as they prepare for the new season. Martinez's experience and defensive prowess are expected to play a key role in Al Nassr's performance.
