16-year-old English winger Rio Ngumoha has been impressing for Liverpool in their pre-season games. He has scored 2 goals and provided 2 assists in just 4 matches, catching the eye with his performances. Ngumoha shone in Liverpool's 4-1 win over Athletic Bilbao, showcasing his talent in a youthful Reds side.

Ngumoha joined Liverpool from Chelsea last summer and made history by becoming the club's youngest starter at 16 years and 135 days old, debuting in the FA Cup against Accrington Stanley on January 11, 2025.

Rio Ngumoha didn't get many first-team starts in the last season, but pre-season coach Arne Slot has given him a chance, and he's made the most of it. Ngumoha has delivered impressive performances, providing an assist against AC Milan, scoring against Yokohama, and contributing a goal and assist in the 4-1 win over Athletic Bilbao.

Rio Ngumoha opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 2nd minute, dragging the ball into the box and firing a shot into the net. He continued to impress, setting up Darwin Nunez's goal with a well-placed header just three minutes later. Ngumoha was substituted in the 67th minute, receiving a standing ovation from the crowd.

“Rio is doing great things in all the games,” said Slot, praising Ngumoha's performance on the club's website. The 16-year-old's impact on the game was undeniable, showcasing his talent and potential for the Reds.

Liverpool played two matches against Athletic Bilbao on Monday. In the first match, Ngumoha started alongside Darwin Nunez, Alexis Mac Allister, and Harvey Elliott in a largely youthful lineup. The Reds won the first match 4-1.

In the second match, Liverpool secured a 3-2 win with new signings Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike featuring in attack alongside Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo. Summer recruits Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong also played, lining up on the defensive flanks.
