Iga Swiatek produced a commanding performance, defeating Belinda Bencic 6-2, 6-0 in just 71 minutes to reach her first Wimbledon final. The world-class Polish player dominated the match from start to finish, setting up a showdown with in-form Amanda Anisimova. Swiatek's impressive display on Centre Court showcased her skill and precision, leaving Bencic with little chance.

“Honestly, I never even dreamed that it's going to be possible for me to play in the final.

“So I'm just super-excited and proud of myself, and I don't know, tennis keeps surprising me,” said Swiatek.

“I thought I had lived through everything, even though I'm young, I thought I experienced everything on the court, but I didn't experience playing well on grass, so that's the first time, and I'm super, super excited and just enjoying it.”

On the sweltering Centre Court, Swiatek quickly took control, surging to a 3-0 lead and catching Bencic off guard. Although Bencic, ranked 35th, managed to hold serve twice to stay in the match, Swiatek seized momentum with a decisive break to love in the eighth game, taking firm grip of the match.

Bencic, who made her comeback in October after a six-month maternity leave following the birth of her daughter Bella, struggled to find her rhythm. Swiatek took advantage, breaking her opponent early in the second set to lead 2-0. The Polish star continued her dominant display, shutting out Bencic in the second set, winning it 6-0 and handing her a chastening defeat.

Despite her impressive form, Swiatek has flown under the radar at Wimbledon this year, dropping only one set en route to the final. Meanwhile, she benefited from the early exits of the top seven seeds. A resurgent Swiatek has climbed back into the world's top four, building on her momentum from last month's maiden grass-court final at Bad Homburg.

Swiatek, a four-time French Open champion and 2022 US Open winner, has historically struggled on Wimbledon's grass courts, never previously advancing beyond the quarterfinals. However, this year she's made a strong impression. Swiatek will face American 13th seed Amanda Anisimova in the final, marking their first-ever meeting. Anisimova earned her spot in the final with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 win over world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.
