Tom Cleverley Sacked as Watford Manager After 14th Place Finish

Watford Football Club has parted ways with manager Tom Cleverley following a disappointing 14th-place finish in the Championship.

Watford Football Club has announced the departure of manager Tom Cleverley, following a 14th-place finish in the Championship. The team had a disappointing run towards the end of the season, taking just one point from their last five games, which left them 11 points outside the playoff places.

Cleverley was appointed interim boss in March last year after Valerien Ismael's exit and was later named as the permanent head coach. Sporting director Gian Luca Nani expressed gratitude for Cleverley's service, saying, “We thank Tom for his service, not just in his role as head coach, but for everything he has given Watford as a player and member of staff.”

Nani further explained the decision to part ways with Cleverley, stating, “But the time has come for a change and to build on what we believe is a young and talented squad that will have benefited from the experience of the Championship this season.»The club is now set to begin the search for a new manager.
