Brondby had looked promising after the break, with Mileta Rajovic equalizing just two minutes after the restart. However, they had struggled to find their usual stride in the first half. Despite their improved performance after halftime, Gammelby's decisive goal ultimately derailed their chances of advancing to the final.
Silkeborg's opponent in the Danish Cup final will be determined in the other semi-final between FC Copenhagen and Viborg FF, which takes place on Thursday.
Silkeborg dominated the early stages of their match against Brondby. After Anders Klynge hit the woodwork in the 9th minute, Silkeborg took the lead when Callum McCowatt scored from a perfect through-ball by Klynge in the 16th minute.
Brondby equalized just two minutes after the restart when Mileta Rajovic curled a shot past Nicolai Larsen after Mathias Kvisgaarden's initial control was poor. However, Silkeborg regained the advantage when Clement Bischoff inadvertently deflected Jens Martin Gammelby's strong shot into his own net, securing the win for Silkeborg.
