AGF had an early chance when Tobias Bach's header narrowly missed the target. However, Midtjylland dominated the early stages and took the lead after 19 minutes when Oliver Sorensen converted a penalty awarded after a VAR review for a foul on him in the box by Tobias Bech.
After halftime, FC Midtjylland maintained control, but AGF fought hard to equalize and succeeded after an hour. Tobias Bech's pass to Tobias Bach led to a low cross that Kristan Arnstad finished, leveling the score.
Midtjylland's fortunes worsened when Valdemar Byskov was sent off for elbowing Felix Beijmo. However, the hosts regained momentum when Henrik Dalsgaard fouled Dario Osorio in the box, and Franculino converted the resulting penalty.
The momentum shifted decisively in Midtjylland's favor when Tobias Bech was given his second yellow card for a tough tackle on Mads Bech Sorensen. Midtjylland sealed the win when Dario Osorio rounded Leopold Wahlstedt to score the third goal, making it 3-1.
The victory keeps Midtjylland in contention for the title, staying within one point of FC Copenhagen, who earlier defeated Brondby. With three matches remaining, the title race remains intense.
