Kompany Proud of Bayern's Fightback Against Leipzig

Bayern Munich's Vincent Kompany praises team's comeback spirit after 3-3 draw against Leipzig, keeping title hopes alive.

Vincent Kompany expressed pride in Bayern Munich's remarkable comeback against RB Leipzig, despite the team falling short of securing the title win. The match ended 3-3, with Bayern coming from 2-0 down at halftime to take the lead through Leroy Sane's 83rd-minute goal. However, Leipzig's Yussuf Poulsen equalized in stoppage time.

Bayern's second-half surge showcased the team's strong mentality, as they scored three goals after being two goals down. Kompany's side has now played 31 league matches, winning 23, drawing six, and losing two, accumulating 75 points.

The draw means Bayern still leads the Bundesliga table with an eight-point gap over Bayer Leverkusen. A win or even a draw in their remaining games might secure the title for Kompany's team, considering their substantial goal difference of 61.

The 3-3 draw against Leipzig put Bayern Munich on 76 points, nine ahead of Bayer Leverkusen. With two games left and a superior goal difference, Bayern can secure their 34th league title if Leverkusen fails to win its upcoming match.

“I am very proud of the second half,” Bayern coach Vincent Kompany said. “In the first half, we did not have the energy... It was a good game for the fans and not a bad result for us.” Kompany praised his team's resilience despite missing several players due to injury.

Bayern Munich are dealing with several injuries, including key players like Jamal Musiala, Dayot Upamecano, Alphonso Davies, and Hiroki Ito. Additionally, top scorer Harry Kane was suspended for the match against Leipzig.

“Congratulations to the boys and we are close now,” said Vincent Kompany, whose team can secure the Bundesliga title next week at home against Borussia Monchengladbach in their first season back under his management.
