Egyptian Club Zamalek Sacks Coach Jose Peseiro

Zamalek and Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro mutually terminate contract due to poor results, ending his three-month stint at the Egyptian club.

Egyptian club Zamalek has parted ways with Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro due to poor results, terminating his contract by mutual consent after less than three months in charge.

“An agreement has been reached between Zamalek and coach Jose Peseiro to mutually terminate the contract,” the club announced on Facebook, wishing him “the best in your future endeavours.”

Jose Peseiro, 65, joined Zamalek on February 14, becoming the fifth coach to lead both Zamalek and Al Ahly. However, his tenure was marked by poor results, including eliminations from the CAF Confederation Cup and Egyptian League Cup.

Under Peseiro, Zamalek slipped to third place in the league, trailing leaders Pyramids by seven points. The Portuguese coach has had an extensive career, previously leading national teams such as Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela, as well as clubs like Porto, Sporting, Al Hilal, Al Wahda, and Sharjah.
