Tennis Update: Kiszko Not Involved, Bencik Advances

Bencic secures a 7-5, 7-5 win over her opponent in the tennis tournament.

Clara Tauson's Madrid Open campaign came to an early end as she lost to Belinda Bencic in the second round. Tauson struggled with unforced errors, which ultimately proved costly in her 7-5, 7-5 defeat.

The Dane had a promising start, leading 5-4 in the first set, but double faults derailed her momentum. In the second set, Tauson failed to capitalize on five break point opportunities, while Bencic seized her chance to break and close out the match.

Bencic, who returned to tennis after becoming a mother last year, has made a strong comeback, winning a WTA title in Abu Dhabi in February and currently ranking 42nd in the world. Her experience and consistency proved too much for Tauson, who managed just one match win at the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid.

The match between Clara Tauson and Belinda Bencic started off strongly for both players, with each holding their service games confidently. However, the momentum shifted at 4-4 in the first set when Tauson capitalized on a Swiss double fault to take the break, thanks to a strong forehand winner.

Tauson's advantage was short-lived, as she committed two double faults and two failed drop shots in the next game, allowing Bencic to break back. The Dane's frustration grew, and she ultimately gave away the set with two successive double faults at 5-6.

In the second set, Tauson reduced her unforced errors but Bencic's defensive skills and powerful serves kept her in control. Despite having five break point opportunities, Tauson couldn't convert any, while Bencic seized her chance at 6-5, converting her first break point to take the set and the match.
