The Toronto Maple Leafs took a 2-0 lead in their playoff series against the Ottawa Senators, thanks to a thrilling 3-2 overtime win. Morgan Rielly and John Tavares scored in the first period, giving the Leafs their first playoff lead in 23 years. However, Toronto blew their 2-0 advantage, but Max Domi's game-winning goal in overtime secured the win.


Despite being outshot 28-21 and outhit 44-21, the Maple Leafs' 32 blocked shots compared to Ottawa's six proved crucial in the game. The series now shifts to Ottawa for Games 3 and 4, scheduled for April 24th and 26th, respectively. The Leafs' win puts them in a strong position, but the Senators will look to bounce back and even the series.

Despite Jasper Bratt's early goal for the Devils, Shayne Gostisbehere and Jordan Martinook responded with their first playoff goals.




Martinook's short-handed goal proved to be a crucial blow to the Devils, who outhit the Canes 51-31 but couldn't capitalize on their chances. Both teams struggled on the power play, going 0-for-3, and each committed 15 giveaways. The series now shifts to New Jersey for Games 3 and 4, scheduled for April 25th and 27th, respectively.
