Liverpool manager Arne Slot praised his team's exceptional mentality after they secured a 2-1 win over West Ham United, inching closer to the Premier League title. Despite not making it easy for themselves, the Reds showed resilience to bounce back from a late equalizer and seal the three points. Slot attributed the team's success to their mental strength, saying, “That is what we've done the whole season. After the disappointment of being knocked out by PSG (in the Champions League), we show up again, show up every three days, with this mentality.”



The win over West Ham saw Liverpool come from behind after Andy Robertson's own goal equalized Luis Diaz's early strike, only for Virgil van Dijk to power home a decisive header three minutes later. Slot acknowledged that his team doesn't win games the easy way, commenting, “We don't win games the easy way. The easy way is taking control of the ball, pass it around five times and we have a goal and the next goal and the next goal.” He emphasized that the team's achievements this season are largely due to the players' mentality, adding, “If we achieve something this year, it's mainly to do with the mentality the players have shown. With a 13-point lead over second-placed Arsenal, Liverpool are on the brink of securing their second Premier League title and their first trophy under Slot's management. The team needs just two wins from their last six games to clinch the title, following their League Cup final loss last month. Slot's praise for his team's mentality highlights the importance of their mental strength in achieving success this season.


Liverpool manager Arne Slot expressed concerns that his team might drop points again after West Ham grew into the game in the second half. However, goalkeeper Alisson made crucial saves to keep Liverpool in the contest.
