AC Milan secured a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Venezia at Stadio Pierluigi Penzo, marking their fifth consecutive win in the matchup. The win keeps Milan's top-six hopes alive in the Serie A standings.


Milan scored the opening goal just four minutes into the match, with Christian Pulisic calmly tucking home after a defense-splitting pass from Youssouf Fofana. This early goal set the tone for the rest of the game.




After taking the lead, Venezia didn't let up. Alessio Zerbin found space in the box but his shot flew wide of the near post. The Arancioneroverdi continued to push forward.


Venezia thought they'd scored 10 minutes before halftime when John Yeboah slammed home after a neat one-touch move. However, VAR intervened, ruling a player offside in the build-up, and the celebrations were short-lived. Just before halftime, Mike Maignan made a crucial save on a free-kick from Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, keeping Milan's lead intact at 1-0.


After the restart, Milan had a prime chance to extend their lead when Rafael Leão had a shot in a crowded box, but he was slightly off-balance and blazed the ball over the bar.


As Venezia pushed forward in search of an equalizer, Milan struck again in the dying moments. Santiago Gimenez scored with a deft lob over Ionuț Radu after racing clear, sealing the 2-0 win.


The win moves Milan within five points of sixth-placed Lazio, although they have played one more game and remain ninth. For Venezia, the loss keeps them 19th, just one point above the relegation zone, and with only four wins all season, their Serie A status is increasingly precarious.
