Salah Hails Liverpool's 'Way Better' Title Win

Mohamed Salah celebrated Liverpool's record-equalling 20th English title, describing it as “way better” than their previous Premier League win five years ago. The Reds thrashed Tottenham 5-1 at Anfield, with Salah contributing to the scoreline.


The win marked a historic moment for Liverpool, drawing level with Manchester United as the joint most successful club in English top-flight history. The team basked in jubilant scenes at Anfield following the victory that secured their long-awaited league title.


Liverpool are 15 points clear of second-placed Arsenal with just four games left, and Mohamed Salah believes their title success is even more special than the one under Jurgen Klopp in 2020. “This is way better, 100 per cent,” Salah said.


Salah's own contribution to the title push was highlighted by his second-half strike that took him into fifth place in the all-time Premier League scorers list with 185 goals. ”Without Sadio, without Jurgen, without Bobby - without everybody, it feels more special,” Salah added, emphasizing the achievement with a different group and manager. “We have a different group now, different manager, so to be able to do it again is something special.”


Mohamed Salah was thrilled to win the title in front of Liverpool's passionate supporters, a stark contrast to their previous title win during the Covid-19 pandemic when fans were barred from Anfield. “It is incredible to win this with our fans. I'm glad we won it here,” Salah said.


Salah expressed relief that the title wasn't secured during the tense moments of watching Arsenal's game, instead preferring to experience the unique atmosphere at Anfield. “Watching the Arsenal-Crystal Palace game on Wednesday, I didn't want to win it then. I wanted an experience we haven't had before.”




The Egyptian forward's resurgence this season has been key to Liverpool's success, with 28 goals in 34 league games. His form has quelled speculation over his future, and he recently signed a contract extension.


Asked if Slot had made him a better player, Salah said: “You can see the numbers. It seems so!


“He is very honest. The Dutch are quite tough, but he made our lives easier because you knew immediately what he wanted you to do.


“Now I don't have to defend much. The tactics are quite different. I said 'as long as you rest me defensively, I will provide offensively', so I am glad that I did. He listened a lot, and you can see the numbers.


“When you play in the Premier League, you have to defend, but I said that I can gamble and somehow I can make a difference. My number of assists shows that.”
