NFL Draft 2025: Titans Set to Pick Cam Ward with First Overall Selection
The Tennessee Titans are expected to select University of Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Cam Ward, the talented quarterback from the University of Miami, is projected to be the first pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, with the Tennessee Titans expected to select him. Ward, a 22-year-old from Texas, had an impressive season with the Hurricanes, completing 305 of 454 passes for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns.
The NFL Draft will take place at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, with the Titans holding the top overall selection after finishing the previous season with a 3-14 record. The Cleveland Browns and New York Giants follow closely, picking second and third, respectively. Ward's impressive stats and skills make him a coveted prospect, and he's likely to make a significant impact in the NFL.
The Tennessee Titans have been actively courting Cam Ward ahead of the NFL Draft, with multiple meetings between the quarterback and the team's coach, Brian Callahan. These sessions focused on how Ward would fit into Tennessee's offensive system.
Ward expressed his enthusiasm about potentially joining the Titans, saying, “I got a chance to learn more about (the Titans) personally over the last couple of months and I'm excited to hopefully hear my name called first, to go to a good organization like that.” He added, “They have a pretty elite team, in my opinion. They don't get enough credit on paper for what they really are. So, if I am there, I know it will turn out good.”
The Tennessee Titans' general manager, Mike Borgonzi, confirmed that the team has rejected trade offers and is set on selecting a specific player with the first overall pick. However, he didn't reveal the player's name.
Cam Ward expressed confidence about fitting in with the Titans, saying, “I think I'd fit in good... Coach Callahan's offense... a lot of it translates to what I did at Miami this past year.” He added, “I think if I ended up there it would be plug-and-play, just have to learn some new terminology, some new protections. But I think we'd be good.”
Ward also praised the Titans' receiving corps, highlighting Calvin Ridley and Van Jefferson as talented players. “I think the quarterback there is going to be surrounded by some good weapons,” Ward said. “And I just hope I'm that guy.”
The New England Patriots are set to pick fourth in the 2025 NFL Draft, following the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and New York Giants. The draft order continues with:
Fourth Round and Beyond:
- New England Patriots
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Las Vegas Raiders
- New York Jets
- Carolina Panthers
- New Orleans Saints

Top prospects like Travis Hunter, the University of Colorado Buffaloes cornerback and wide receiver, are expected to be among the early selections. Hunter, who won the 2024 Heisman Trophy, offers a unique two-way threat that could make him a coveted pick. Meanwhile, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, son of Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders, is also in the draft, although his selection spot is harder to predict.
Cam Ward is Exhibit A to "run your own race."
