“Alessandro Buongiorno underwent instrumental tests today at the Pineta Grande Hospital, which revealed a destructive lesion of the long adductor muscle of the right thigh,” Napoli said in a statement, confirming the severity of the injury.
Napoli's 25-year-old player Buongiorno has started his rehabilitation process after suffering an injury. Italian media reports suggest this could end his season, ruling him out for Napoli's final four matches.
Napoli, led by Antonio Conte, currently top the league with 74 points, three ahead of Inter Milan. The team's upcoming fixtures include matches against Lecce, Genoa, Parma, and Cagliari.
