France Winger Bielle-Biarrey Wins Six Nations Top Honor


France winger Louis Bielle-Biarrey has been named Six Nations Player of the Championship after scoring a record-breaking eight tries.



France winger Louis Bielle-Biarrey has been crowned the Six Nations Player of the Championship, as announced on Tuesday. This prestigious honor comes after Bielle-Biarrey's impressive performance in the tournament, where he scored an unprecedented eight tries, contributing significantly to France's championship victory.


At just 21 years old, Bielle-Biarrey has etched his name in the record books by setting a new benchmark for the most tries scored in a single Championship during the Six Nations era. His remarkable achievement surpasses the previous record of seven tries, held by Ireland's Jacob Stockdale since 2018.


Bielle-Biarrey emerged as the clear favorite among fans, securing the majority of the vote to claim the Player of the Championship award. He was shortlisted alongside other talented players, including England back Tommy Freeman, Scotland full-back Blair Kinghorn, and Italy centre Tommaso Menoncello, who won the award last year.



Louis Bielle-Biarrey reflected on his journey to becoming a rugby star, attributing his passion for the sport to his early introduction. “My parents signed me up for rugby when I was 5 years old. Straight away, I really liked it, it is a childhood dream today to be able to live my passion,” Bielle-Biarrey said, highlighting the significance of his family's support in nurturing his love for the game.


France's triumphant Six Nations campaign culminated in a 35-16 victory over Scotland on March 16, securing their seventh Six Nations trophy. The team finished with 21 points, narrowly edging out England in the standings by a single point. This achievement marked a memorable conclusion to the tournament for Bielle-Biarrey and his teammates.
