Monday's NHL Action Sees Flyers, Devils, and Flames Secure Crucial Wins

The Philadelphia Flyers won their third straight game under new coach Brad Shaw, while the New Jersey Devils and Calgary Flames secured shootout victories in Monday's NHL action.

The NHL's Monday schedule featured a modest four-game slate, but it was the Philadelphia Flyers who stole the spotlight with their third consecutive win under new head coach Brad Shaw.

The Flyers' winning streak continued with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Nashville Predators. Despite being outshot 29-18, Philadelphia's resilience paid off, with goals from Ryan Poehling (his 11th of the season) and Jamie Drysdale (his 7th). Rookie sensation Matvei Michkov played a crucial role in the win, notching assists on both goals.

With just six games remaining in their season, the Flyers are now 3-0 under Shaw's guidance. This winning streak has provided a much-needed boost to the team's morale, and they will look to continue this momentum in their upcoming games.

Devils Edge Wild in Shootout

The New Jersey Devils secured a hard-fought 3-2 win over the Minnesota Wild in a shootout, marking their second consecutive victory against the Wild.

Nico Hischier scored his 34th goal of the season to put the Devils ahead 2-1, but the Wild's Matt Boldy equalized with his 25th goal, sending the game into overtime. Despite a thrilling extra period, neither team could find the back of the net, necessitating a shootout to decide the winner.

In the shootout, Paul Cotter and Jesper Bratt delivered clutch goals for the Devils, securing the victory and propelling New Jersey to their second straight win against the Wild.

Flames Rally Past Avalanche in Shootout

The Calgary Flames staged an impressive comeback, erasing a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Colorado Avalanche 3-2 in a shootout. Ryan Lomberg (2) and Adam Klapka (3) scored crucial goals in the third period, sending the game into overtime.

Despite a scoreless overtime period, the Flames persevered, and Yegor Sharangovich scored the decisive goal in the shootout, securing Calgary's fifth win in their last seven games.

In another Western Conference matchup, the Dallas Stars earned a 3-1 victory over the Seattle Kraken.
