Flick Looks Ahead to Betis Test as Barcelona Eye Quadruple

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is focusing on the team's LaLiga match against Real Betis, despite the club's pursuit of a quadruple this season.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is prioritizing the team's upcoming LaLiga match against Real Betis on Saturday, rather than looking ahead to their Champions League quarter-final clash with Borussia Dortmund. Barcelona currently lead the LaLiga standings with 66 points, holding a three-point advantage over second-placed Real Madrid with nine matches remaining.

Flick emphasized the importance of focusing on the next game, rather than getting distracted by the impending Champions League match. “We always focus on the next game, we don't look at Dortmund, far from it. We are focused on Betis and on getting fresh legs tomorrow,” Flick told reporters on Friday. This approach reflects Flick's commitment to taking things one game at a time, even as the team navigates multiple competitions.

While Barcelona have enjoyed an impressive unbeaten run in all competitions in 2025, Real Betis pose a significant threat, having secured six consecutive wins in LaLiga. This matchup promises to be an exciting and challenging encounter for both teams.

Barcelona are in pursuit of an impressive quadruple this season, having already secured the Spanish Super Cup in January. The team is set to host German side Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals and has also booked a spot in the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid. Manager Hansi Flick expressed his team's confidence and determination, saying, “I have the feeling that the team now believe in themselves. My job is to remind them that we have to play and show what we are worth on the pitch.”

Flick emphasized the importance of maintaining focus and momentum, stating, “We fight for everything, we believe in ourselves and we want to win every competition.” He also acknowledged the challenges that lie ahead, particularly in LaLiga, where Barcelona still have nine games left to play. Flick noted, “It's a long journey, there's still a long way to go (in LaLiga). There are nine games left, they are games that can be won or lost.”

The manager recognized that other teams, aside from Real Madrid and Barcelona, are also in contention for the LaLiga title, saying, “There are other teams who are in the fight and who have the quality to win the title, not just Madrid and Barca.” Flick also provided an update on the availability of Spanish midfielder Gavi, confirming that the 20-year-old will be available to play against Real Betis.

Flick anticipates a challenging match against Betis, stating, “It's going to be a difficult game, we saw that in the Copa, too. The result didn't represent how the match went.” He emphasized the need for his team to perform at their best, saying, “We have to play at our best against them. We have to manage the players' load and tomorrow we'll see what happens.”
