As a home favourite and one of Italy's top medal hopes, Brignone's absence would be deeply felt. Italian media outlets have reported that her recovery period will be lengthy, casting a shadow over her Olympic ambitions.
Despite this setback, Brignone's recent season has been nothing short of remarkable. She capped off an incredible campaign by winning the giant slalom and downhill globes, adding to her giant slalom gold medal at the World Championships in February. Brignone's impressive performances have cemented her status as one of the world's top skiers, making her injury all the more disappointing.
