Evan Mobley, a 23-year-old forward-center for the Cleveland Cavaliers, has been named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year. This achievement marks a historic moment for the Cavaliers, as Mobley becomes the first player in franchise history to receive this honor.


Mobley's impressive stats this season include averaging 1.6 blocks and 7.0 defensive rebounds per game, while contesting 10.4 shots. On offense, he averaged 18.5 points and 3.2 assists per game. His outstanding performance earned him 35 first-place votes and a total of 285 points from a 100-member global media panel.




Competition and Future Prospects
Mobley beat out notable competitors Dyson Daniels from Atlanta and Draymond Green from Golden State, who secured 197 and 154 points, respectively.
