The New York Yankees etched their name in the Major League Baseball history books on Saturday, achieving a feat that had never been accomplished before. The Yankees' lineup made a statement by hitting home runs on the first three pitches they faced, with Paul Goldschmidt, Cody Bellinger, and Aaron Judge each sending the ball soaring over the wall.

This historic achievement was made possible by the struggles of Milwaukee pitcher Nestor Corales, a former Yankee left-hander. Corales was unable to find his rhythm, and the Yankees' hitters took full advantage. The three consecutive home runs marked a first in Yankees history, with Goldschmidt, Bellinger, and Judge becoming the first trio to blast back-to-back-to-back homers to lead off a game.

The Yankees' offense didn't stop there, as Austin Wells added a two-out homer to cap off an incredible inning. This four-homer inning was the first for the Yankees since the club's inception in 1903, a testament to the team's impressive firepower. The 27-time World Series champion Yankees continue to make their mark on the league, and this historic performance will be remembered for years to come.

Aaron Judge continued to wreak havoc on the Brewers' pitching staff, adding a grand slam homer off relief pitcher Connor Thomas in the third inning. Judge wasn't done yet, as he smashed a two-run homer in the fourth inning, helping the Yankees seize a commanding 18-6 lead through six innings.

The historic performance also marked a milestone for two of the Yankees' newest additions. Paul Goldschmidt, the former Arizona standout who played for St. Louis from 2019 to 2024, hit his first homer with the Yankees. Cody Bellinger, the former Los Angeles Dodger who was traded to the Yankees by the Chicago Cubs last December, also hit his first homer in pinstripes.

The game had a interesting subplot, as Nestor Cortes, the Brewers' starting pitcher, faced his former team. Cortes, a Cuban-born American, was traded by the Yankees to Milwaukee last December in exchange for pitcher Devin Williams. The Yankees ultimately emerged victorious, winning 20-9 in a game that saw them hit nine homers, just one shy of the record for a single game (10).
