Renato Veiga Sidelined with Leg Injury, Juventus Confirm

Renato Veiga has been ruled out for up to three weeks with a leg injury, Juventus have confirmed.

Juventus defender Renato Veiga, on loan from Chelsea, is set to miss up to three weeks of action due to a leg injury. The 21-year-old suffered the injury during Wednesday's 3-1 Champions League playoff loss to PSV Eindhoven.

“Renato Veiga, who came off during the first half of the match against PSV Eindhoven, underwent diagnostic tests,” Juventus said in a statement on Thursday. “The examinations revealed an injury to the tendon of the plantaris gracilis in his right leg.” According to media reports, Veiga, who has started all five of Juventus' matches this month, is expected to be out for two to three weeks.

Juventus, currently sitting fourth in the Serie A standings, are set to face Cagliari on Sunday in their next league match.
