Harry Kane Injury Update: Bayern Munich Awaits Scan Results

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane faces an uncertain recovery after suffering a calf injury in the Champions League match against Celtic.

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane faces an anxious wait for the results of a scan on the injury he sustained during the Champions League match against Celtic. Kane, 31, was replaced at halftime in Bayern's 3-2 aggregate victory and is now doubtful for Sunday's Bundesliga game against Frankfurt.

Kane's injury woes began when he hit the crossbar in the first half, but he was otherwise quiet during his 45-minute stint on the pitch. After the match, Kane revealed that he had suffered a calf problem, which may keep him sidelined for the Frankfurt game. “We'll have a scan tonight and then we'll see. I'm not sure if I can play against Frankfurt on Sunday,” he told reporters at the Allianz Arena.

In addition to his calf injury, Kane is also nursing a jaw injury sustained in a collision during the match against Bayer Leverkusen last Saturday. The England international admitted that the jaw injury is still causing him discomfort, adding to his concerns ahead of the Frankfurt game.

Bayern Munich's Sporting Director Max Eberl shed more light on Harry Kane's injury, revealing that an ankle issue had been hindering the England captain's mobility during the first half against Celtic. Eberl's confirmation provided insight into Kane's subdued performance before being replaced at halftime.

When questioned about the extent of Kane's injury, Bayer Leverkusen coach Vincent Kompany exercised caution, saying: “I couldn't say at this moment how long he will be out for.” Kompany's comments reflected the uncertainty surrounding Kane's availability for upcoming matches.

Despite the concerns over his injury, Harry Kane sought to reassure reporters about his condition, stating: “I'm OK.” Kane's optimism was a welcome note, but the outcome of his scan will ultimately determine the severity of his injury and the timeline for his return.
