Bundesliga: Dortmund Snap Winless Streak with Nervy 2-1 Win Over Heidenheim
Borussia Dortmund ended their four-game winless run in the Bundesliga with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Heidenheim, thanks to goals from Serhou Guirassy and Maximilian Beier.
Borussia Dortmund arrested their slide in the Bundesliga, securing a hard-fought 2-1 win over Heidenheim to end a four-game winless run. Mike Tullberg's side displayed resilience to hold on for a vital victory, which eased the pressure on the team.
With Dortmund winless in the Bundesliga this year, their trip to relegation-threatened Heidenheim was billed as a must-win encounter. The visitors struggled to find their rhythm for much of the first half, but eventually broke through 10 minutes before the break, courtesy of Serhou Guirassy's close-range finish.
The opening goal had a touch of fortune to it, as Heidenheim had multiple opportunities to clear the ball before Serhou Guirassy capitalized on the chance. The Guinean forward made no mistake, adding to his midweek double against Shakhtar Donetsk with a clinical finish.

After a sterile first half, the contest sprang to life following the restart, with Dortmund doubling their advantage through Maximilian Beier. Beier ghosted into the penalty area, steering home Ramy Bensebaini's first-time cross with precision.
Heidenheim refused to give up, firing back immediately through Mathias Honsak's delicate left-footed finish. However, despite reducing the deficit to one, Heidenheim's response was lackluster, with their only notable chance falling to skipper Patrick Mainka, who mis-hit his strike, allowing Gregor Kobel to make a comfortable save.
You can feel the hunger 😤 Good week with these two victories ✅ thanks for the support 🔥. We continue. #alhamdulillah pic.twitter.com/Q6J31ckFqz

This welcome 2-1 victory keeps managerless Dortmund's outside hopes of making it into the UEFA Champions League positions alive. The three points will provide a much-needed boost to the team, who will look to build on this result in their upcoming fixtures.
