Lecce secured a 3-1 victory over Parma in Serie A on Friday evening, thanks to goals from Kikola Krstovic and a brace from Santiago Pierotti. This win propelled Lecce up five places in the table, while condemning Parma to a week in the relegation zone.
Notably, Patrick Dorgu was absent from the Lecce lineup for only the second time this season. Dorgu did not make an appearance off the bench and is expected to complete his transfer to Manchester United by the close of the January transfer window on Monday.
Krstovic thought he had opened the scoring in the 24th minute, slotting home with the aid of a deflection in the penalty area. However, the Montenegrin was deemed marginally offside in the build-up, and the goal was subsequently ruled out after a VAR check.

Parma capitalized on this reprieve, taking the lead through Emmanuele Valeri's penalty. Valeri showed no signs of nerves, thumping his effort into the roof of the net. However, Lecce responded swiftly, leveling the scores just moments after the restart.
Þorir Johann Helgason's looping cross from the right touchline found Krstovic in the penalty area, and the latter leapt to dispatch a wonderful header over Zion Suzuki from the penalty spot. This goal leveled the scores, and Lecce began to gain momentum.
Parma had controlled the early stages of the second half, but Lecce turned the tables just after the hour mark. Pierotti received a defense-splitting pass from Krstovic and had ample time to pick his spot, converting past Suzuki in a one-on-one situation at the near post.

Lecce sealed their victory in the final moments of injury time, courtesy of a well-worked move involving Krstovic and Pierotti. Pierotti initiated the attack, playing the ball to Krstovic, who then sent his teammate through to the right-hand side of the area. Pierotti's resulting shot took a deflection on its way into the far corner, securing a 3-1 win for Lecce. With this two-goal cushion, Lecce comfortably saw out the remaining minute of the match.
