World Number One Sinner Pulls Out of Rotterdam Tournament

World number one Jannik Sinner has withdrawn from the ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam, citing fatigue after his Australian Open win. He will be replaced by Jakub Mensik in the tournament.

Australian Open winner and world number one Jannik Sinner has withdrawn from the ABN AMRO Open tournament in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The 21-year-old Italian superstar announced his withdrawal on the tournament's website, citing the need for rest after his successful run in Australia.

“After consulting with my team, I had to make the difficult decision to withdraw from the ABN AMRO Open,” Sinner said. “My body needs time to rest after the long run in Australia.” Sinner, who won the title in Rotterdam last year, expressed his regret at missing the event, saying, “I have great memories of winning the title in front of a great crowd at Rotterdam Ahoy last year and hope to be there again soon.”

Sinner also extended his best wishes to the tournament organizers, stating, “I wish Richard (Krajicek) and the whole team a great event.” Besides Sinner, world number eleven Grigor Dimitrov has also pulled out of the tournament due to an injury suffered during the Australian Open. Jakub Mensik and Roberto Bautista Agut will replace Sinner and Dimitrov in Rotterdam.

The ABN AMRO Open takes place in the Dutch city of Rotterdam from February 3-9. The tournament boasts a strong field, featuring top 10 players Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Alex De Minaur, and Andrey Rublev, among others, in its 51st edition.
