Cody Gakpo has been named the Premier League Player of the Week after his outstanding performance in Liverpool's 4-1 thrashing of Ipswich. The 23-year-old Dutch forward scored two goals and provided an assist, earning a impressive 9.3 player rating, the highest of the week.

Gakpo was instrumental in Liverpool's dominant display at Anfield, setting up Mohamed Salah with a precise cross before scoring himself later in the first half. He added his second goal of the game, and 14th of the season, with a well-timed header at the back post, following a quality delivery from Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Gakpo's impressive performance helped Liverpool maintain their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, with a game in hand over second-placed Arsenal. The Reds will now shift their focus to their Champions League campaign, where they will face PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday, before returning to Premier League action against Bournemouth on Saturday.
