Vincent Kompany Calls for Bayern Munich to Keep Pushing
Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany emphasizes the need for his team to stay hungry and maintain their intensity ahead of the Hoffenheim clash.
Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany emphasized the importance of maintaining intensity and hunger as the Bundesliga leaders head into the second half of the season. Ahead of Wednesday's league game against Hoffenheim, Kompany stressed that his team must continue to show the same level of desire that drove them in the first part of the season.
Kompany's Bayern Munich side has re-established its dominance in the Bundesliga, leading the title race with a four-point gap over reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen. As the team approaches the halfway stage of the season with the Hoffenheim game, Kompany reflected on their performance, saying, “We have been pretty strong. But what I like as a coach is to work on the things we can still improve.”
Kompany emphasized the need for his team to maintain their hunger and drive, stating, “We have to go in with the same hunger. What you saw in the first part of the season was the hunger of a disappointing season before and that needs to live from now until the end of the season and then into the next season.” This mindset will be crucial as Bayern Munich navigates the second half of the season and pursues its goals.
Note: Additionally, it was reported that Jamal Musiala will miss the Hoffenheim clash due to injury.
Bayern Munich, who suffered a defeat to Leverkusen in the German Cup round of 16 in December, have been nearly unbeatable in the league, with only one loss to their name. Coach Vincent Kompany emphasized the importance of maintaining their hunger and drive, saying, “Every time we have an opportunity to perform, we have to show the same hunger and we have to do it tomorrow against Hoffenheim as well.”
Kompany stressed that Bayern Munich has no intention of easing up, instead aiming to push themselves even harder. “We have no intentions to take one step less and we want to see if we can push it more,” he said. This mindset will be crucial as Bayern Munich faces Hoffenheim and continues its pursuit of the Bundesliga title.
However, Bayern Munich may be without the services of in-form attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala, who is recovering from a flu virus. Kompany provided an update on Musiala's status, saying, “Musiala, it is not certain he will be with us tomorrow. We will see tomorrow. If he could even just be in the squad it would be positive for us.”
