Ferencvaros Appoint Jesper Jensen as New Coach

Jesper Jensen joins Ferencvaros with the goal of winning the Champions League title, a feat he couldn't achieve with Team Esbjerg.

Danish women's handball national team coach Jesper Jensen is set to embark on a new challenge, taking the reins at Hungarian club Ferencvaros. Jensen will succeed Allan Heine, who will step down from his position as coach this summer. Ferencvaros has confirmed the news on their website, announcing that Jensen has signed a contract, although the exact length of the agreement has not been disclosed.

Jensen's move to Ferencvaros presents an opportunity for him to capture a trophy that has eluded him during his time in Esbjerg. As he prepares to take on this new challenge, Jensen will be eager to make a positive impact and bring success to his new club.

Jesper Jensen has set his sights on winning the Champions League title with Ferencvaros, a feat he was unable to achieve with Team Esbjerg, despite having a talented squad at his disposal. Jensen expressed his enthusiasm for joining Ferencvaros, saying, “I have played against Ferencváros many times, so I have many good experiences with the club and the fans. It's an honor to work as a national coach, so it was a difficult decision to make, but I knew I wanted to manage a club team again and when they called, things took off. I am looking forward to joining the club.”

Jensen emphasized his desire to create something special with Ferencvaros, stating, “I want to create something special. I know what the team's goals are and that's also very motivating for me. Ferencváros has a fantastic past. There is always pressure at a club like this, and I think everyone who moves here knows that - so I'm looking forward to this pressure and working with the players.” Jensen's comments highlight his eagerness to take on the challenges and expectations that come with coaching a prestigious club like Ferencvaros.

Jesper Jensen had stepped down as coach of Team Esbjerg in the summer of 2024 to focus solely on the Danish national team. However, with his new appointment at Ferencvaros, Jensen will be relinquishing his role as Danish national team coach. This move marks a new chapter in Jensen's coaching career, as he seeks to achieve success with Ferencvaros.
