Tottenham Boss Postecoglou Says Salah Would Find it Tough to Shine

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou believes even Mohamed Salah would struggle to make an impact at the struggling London side.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has made a candid assessment of his team's current state, suggesting that even a player of Mohamed Salah's caliber would struggle to make an impact. Postecoglou's comments highlight the significant challenges he faces in revitalizing the team's fortunes.

Ange Postecoglou's remarks were made in the context of discussing the difficulties of integrating new players into the team. He emphasized that Tottenham's current situation is such that even a world-class player like Salah would find it tough to excel. This candid admission underscores the scale of the task ahead for Postecoglou as he seeks to transform the team's performance and restore a winning culture.

Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, has expressed his doubts about whether even a player of Mohamed Salah's exceptional talent could replicate his impressive form for the London side this season. Salah, 32, has had a remarkable campaign, scoring 21 goals and providing 17 assists in all competitions. However, Postecoglou believes that the Egyptian's performance would likely suffer if he were to join Tottenham's struggling team.

Postecoglou elaborated on his thoughts, stating, “Mo is a world-class player but if you put him in our team now I'm not sure he'll have that same level of performance because of the situation we're in as a group.” He emphasized the importance of a well-functioning team in enabling individual players to excel. “You need a team that's in good form, creating opportunities, playing on the front foot, having a really solid foundation of a defence that is cohesive,” Postecoglou explained. “None of these things exist at the moment (at Spurs). We're relying on individual moments.”

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has offered an interesting assessment of his team's captain, Son Heung-min, suggesting that the South Korean forward would excel in the current Liverpool side. Postecoglou believes that Son's goal-scoring abilities would be more pronounced in a team like Liverpool, which has a more cohesive and effective attacking unit. ”I'd hazard to say that if you put Sonny in Liverpool's team, I reckon his goalscoring return would be decent,»Postecoglou said.

Despite Son's relatively modest goal tally of seven in all competitions this season, Postecoglou remains confident in his captain's abilities. The Spurs manager is optimistic that when the team is performing at its best, Son's goal-scoring form will also improve. “But when we're at our best, I still think you'll see Sonny's return,” Postecoglou added. Tottenham's faith in Son is evident, as the club activated a one-year extension in the 32-year-old forward's contract on Tuesday.
