The National Hockey League (NHL) is set to return to Quebec City next year, with the Ottawa Senators hosting two preseason games at the Videotron Centre. The Senators will face off against the New Jersey Devils on September 28th and the Montreal Canadiens on September 30th. In addition to the games, the team will also hold open practices for fans and engage in community work with the players during their four-day stay in Quebec City.
Ottawa Senators' owner Michael Andlauer expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, stating, “In addition to playing two games in front of passionate fans, this short trip will allow our players to spend a few days in a beautiful city as they put the finishing touches on their preparations for a new season.” The team's President and CEO, Cyril Leeder, also shared his excitement, saying, “We can't wait to get in front of the Quebec City crowd for a portion of our training camp.”

Quebec City has a rich hockey history, having been home to the Quebec Nordiques from 1979 to 1995 before the team relocated to Colorado and became the Avalanche in 1996. The upcoming preseason games will mark a welcome return of NHL action to the city. According to Leeder, ”Quebec City was the obvious destination, and we're very excited to see our players in action on the ice at Videotron Centre.”
