Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani shared photos of his newborn on Instagram Saturday. He and Tanaka welcomed a daughter in April 2024 and are now parents of two.

Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani and Mamiko Tanaka revealed the birth of their second child Saturday in a heartfelt Instagram post on Ohtani’s account.

“It’s another amazing day in our lives we get to share together,” the couple wrote alongside a photo of the baby in a blue blanket, wearing an outfit printed with their dog Decoy.

A second photo showed the baby’s tiny feet sticking out from under a blanket.

“Thank you for being born safely,” the proud parents wrote. “We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported us throughout this journey.”

Ohtani, a four-time MVP, hadn’t shared news of a second pregnancy. But the Dodgers confirmed it Friday when they said he’d be away “on paternity” and missed the series opener vs the Orioles in Baltimore.

He wasn’t officially placed on MLB’s paternity list though, and was set to rejoin the team later that weekend.

Ohtani and Tanaka had their first child, a daughter, back in April last year.
