NBA All-Star Voting: Jokic and Antetokounmpo Dominate


Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokic and Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo lead the NBA All-Star voting returns, solidifying their spots as top vote-getters.



Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo continue to dominate the NBA All-Star voting, solidifying their positions as top vote-getters for starting spots in the February 16 contest. The Denver Nuggets' Jokic, a three-time MVP, leads the Western Conference frontcourt with 2,277,723 votes.



Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee Bucks' star forward and two-time NBA MVP, tops the Eastern Conference frontcourt voting with 2,721,339 votes. As the NBA's leading scorer, Antetokounmpo's impressive performance has resonated with fans, who account for 50% of the vote in deciding the All-Star Game starters.


The remaining 50% of the vote is split evenly between a media panel and current NBA players. The starters for the NBA All-Star Game will be announced on January 23, with the game set to take place in San Francisco on February 16.


The NBA All-Star Game format has undergone a significant change for the 2025 edition, introducing a four-team tournament to replace the traditional two-team system. This year's event will feature teams captained by Shaquille O'Neal, Charles Barkley, and Kenny Smith, along with the winners of the Rising Stars Challenge, who will be guided by WNBA legend Candace Parker.


In the latest voting returns, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder maintained his lead among Western Conference guards with 1,811,050 votes. LaMelo Ball of the Charlotte Hornets also retained his top spot among Eastern Conference guards with 1,490,227 votes.


Jayson Tatum of the reigning NBA champion Boston Celtics secured the third-highest overall vote total and ranked second in the Eastern Conference frontcourt with 2,224,086 votes, trailing only Giannis Antetokounmpo. Karl-Anthony Towns of the New York Knicks finished third in the East frontcourt with 1,872,228 votes.


In the Eastern Conference backcourt, Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers (1,181,310 votes) and Milwaukee's Damian Lillard (1,019,739 votes) trailed LaMelo Ball in the voting. Meanwhile, in the Western Conference frontcourt, Nikola Jokic was followed by Phoenix's Kevin Durant (1,983,680 votes) and Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James (1,981,529 votes).


Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs ranked fourth in the West frontcourt with 1,630,948 votes, narrowly ahead of Lakers star Anthony Davis (1,528,262 votes). In the Western Conference backcourt, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors overtook Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks, moving into second place behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with 1,369,365 votes.
