Manchester United Secures Amad Diallo's Future with New Contract

Manchester United has secured Amad Diallo's long-term future, signing him to a new five-and-a-half-year contract until June 2030.

Manchester United's technical director, Jason Wilcox, expressed his delight at Amad Diallo's development, saying, “Everyone is delighted with Amad's development.” Wilcox highlighted Diallo's key qualities, stating, “His quality on the ball, versatility and determination make him a key part of the future of Manchester United.” He added, “The best years of his career are ahead of him, and we all look forward to helping Amad to reach his immense potential and achieve success at the club in the coming seasons.”

Diallo joined Manchester United from Atalanta in 2021 and has since scored nine goals in 50 appearances for the club. Initially, he faced challenges, with limited playing time in his early years at Old Trafford. To gain more experience, Diallo embarked on loan spells at Rangers in the 2021/22 season and Sunderland in the Championship for the 2022/23 season, where he impressed with 14 goals in 42 appearances.

Despite receiving offers from other clubs, then-manager Erik ten Hag decided to keep Diallo at Manchester United for the 2023/24 season. However, a pre-season knee injury sidelined him for five months. Diallo made a remarkable return, scoring a dramatic 120th-minute winner against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals at Old Trafford.

This season, Diallo has become a regular in the first team, scoring crucial goals, including a stoppage-time winner against rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in December. He also recently netted an equaliser in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool at Anfield, showcasing his growing importance to the team.

Manchester United has secured the long-term future of winger Amad Diallo, tying him down to a new five-and-a-half-year contract. The 22-year-old Ivory Coast international's new deal will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2030, providing stability and reassurance for the club.

Diallo's previous contract was set to expire at the end of the current season, but his impressive performances have earned him a new deal. This season, he has scored six goals in 27 appearances, making him a key player for the club.

Reacting to the new contract, Diallo expressed his pride and ambition, saying, “I am really proud to have signed this new contract. I have had some incredible moments with this club already but there is so much more to come.” He added, “I have huge ambitions in the game and I want to achieve history at Manchester United.”

Diallo acknowledged the challenges faced by the team this season but remains optimistic about the future. He stated, “It has been a difficult season for everyone, but I fully believe that we are on the right path and the future is going to be really special.” Demonstrating his commitment to the club, Diallo concluded, “I am ready to give everything to help the team and make our supporters proud again.”
