Hamstring Injury Sidelines Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies Ahead of Freiburg Clash

Alphonso Davies is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring strain in Bayern Munich's 3-0 Champions League loss to Feyenoord, the club confirmed on Thursday.

Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies has been ruled out of the team's upcoming trip to Freiburg due to a hamstring injury. The 24-year-old Canadian international suffered the injury in the latter stages of the first half during Bayern's 3-0 Champions League defeat to Feyenoord on Wednesday.

Davies had only recently returned to action after being sidelined for over a week last month due to a thigh injury. The recurrence of another injury will come as a concern for Bayern, who are already dealing with a number of absentees. The club confirmed the injury in a statement, revealing that a scan had confirmed the muscle strain in Davies' left hamstring.

Bayern's injury list is growing, with several key players currently sidelined. Midfielder Joao Palhinha has been out since November with an abductor muscle injury, while goalkeeper Daniel Peretz is nursing a kidney contusion. Defender Sacha Boey is also yet to return from a ligament injury he sustained last month. Bayern will be looking to maintain their lead at the top of the Bundesliga table when they face Freiburg on Saturday.
