Everton Boss Moyes Provides Update on Broja's Future Amid Injury Setback
Everton manager David Moyes says Armando Broja's injury will take longer to recover than initially thought, potentially ending his loan spell at the club.
Everton manager David Moyes addressed the media in his latest press conference, discussing the club's transfer plans and preparations for their upcoming match against Tottenham. Moyes was first asked about the club's transfer business in the January window, specifically about the potential signing of Lyon winger Ernest Nuamah.
Moyes expressed caution about the availability of value in the transfer market, suggesting that it may be challenging to find the right players at the right price. “I don’t know if there is that level of value available,” he said. Moyes also acknowledged that his team is working hard to identify potential targets, but emphasized that he is not aware of any imminent deals. “We are looking really closely, but when you come in you’re trying to catch up with what the club can do.”
David Moyes provided an update on Armando Broja's injury status, which he sustained while on loan at Everton. Broja's injury was initially thought to be less severe, but Moyes revealed that the recovery period will be longer than expected. “Not absolutely happening but his injury is now going to take a lot longer than initially thought,” he said. This development may lead to Broja returning to Chelsea, with Moyes stating that discussions are underway. “It is one of the options that might be available but people around the club are talking about it with Chelsea.”

Moyes also provided an update on the fitness of several key players ahead of their match against Tottenham. James Garner is back training on the pitch, but others are still sidelined. “James Garner is back on the pitch training, but the others aren’t,” Moyes said. Dwight McNeil is nearing a return, with Moyes stating that they are awaiting further information. “Dwight (McNeil) isn’t too far away, we are just waiting for more information.” Timothy Iroegbunam is also close to returning, while Seamus Coleman is further away due to a slight injury sustained in training. “Tim (Timothy Iroegbunam) is not far behind. Seamus (Coleman) had a slight injury in training and is a little further away.”
