The Chicago Bears have hired Declan Doyle as their new offensive coordinator and Dennis Allen as defensive coordinator, marking the first major hires under new head coach Ben Johnson.

The Chicago Bears have made significant changes to their coaching staff, hiring Declan Doyle as the new offensive coordinator and Dennis Allen as the defensive coordinator. The appointments, announced on Sunday night, mark the first major hires under new head coach Ben Johnson. Additionally, Richard Hightower has been brought on board as the special teams coordinator.

Dennis Allen, 52, brings a wealth of experience to the defensive coordinator role. He previously served as the head coach of the New Orleans Saints, compiling a 2-7 record before being fired. Allen's coaching career spans over a decade, including stints as a defensive coordinator, senior defensive assistant coach, and interim defensive coordinator. His previous head coaching experience includes a tenure with the Oakland Raiders, where he held a record of 8-28.

Declan Doyle, 28, will take on his first offensive coordinator role with the Chicago Bears. Doyle's coaching career began as an offensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints (2019-2022), followed by a two-year stint as the tight ends coach for the Denver Broncos. The Bears' offence ranked 32nd in the league last season, making Doyle's appointment a crucial step in revitalizing the team's performance.

The Chicago Bears' coaching overhaul comes after a disappointing season, which saw the team rank 27th in defence and 32nd in offence. With new head coach Ben Johnson at the helm, the team is undergoing a significant transformation, with Doyle, Allen, and Hightower playing key roles in shaping the Bears' future.
